Quinton “Rampage” Jackson hinted yesterday that he was making his first appearance since completing his UFC contract. It’s now confirmed that Jackson has signed a multi-year partnership with Bellator, Spike TV and TNA Wrestling.
“Rampage is a true superstar both inside and outside the MMA cage” said Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney. “The partnership that we’ve created with Quinton is unlike anything that’s ever been done in the sports and entertainment arena and Rampage is the perfect athlete/entertainer to carry it off.”
The former UFC light heavyweight champion will compete for Bellator and TNA Wrestling. A special reality show will also run on Spike TV for Jackson’s debut.
Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal inked a similar deal last year.
MMA Fighting’s Ariel Helwani said “Jackson’s Bellator debut has yet to be finalized, but a fall date appears to be a possibility.”
Jackson was 7-5 for the UFC, dropping his last three in a row for the promotion. The two parties didn’t end on good terms.
