Stephan Bonnar Honored By HOF Induction

Stephan Bonnar went from feeling like a disgrace for his UFC 153 drug test coming back for steroids to a UFC hall of famer in the span of eight months.

“I never even dreamed [of being in the Hall of Fame],” said Bonnar on Inside MMA. “If they want to put me in the Hall of Fame then like, my god what an honor. I never really expected it.”

The soon to be official hall of famer said he found out about his induction like everyone else, live at a recent post-fight press conference.

Basically retired, Bonnar took the UFC 153 fight with Anderson Silva a month before the show. They filled the role of the main event when the previous fight was pulled due to injury. Silva became the first person to stop Bonnar after connecting with a knee to the chest, in round number one.

Bonnar enters the hall of fame alongside Forrest Griffin during UFC 161 weekend. Both reached the finals on The Ultimate Fighter season one.
