Patricky Freire Proposes Competing On Same Bellator Card As Brother Patricio

Patricky Freire hasn’t fought for Bellator since losing to former lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez in October. He was set for their Season 8 tournament, before pulling out last minute with an injury. When he returns, Patricky wants his brother, Patricio Freire, to appear on the same card.

“I think that me and him on the same card we would be doing a big favor to Bellator,” said Patricky through an interpreter to MMA Junkie. “It would be huge for the event and would be a great show for the event. The guys of Esporte Interativo, the Brazilian channel that airs Bellator, are crazy about the idea.”

At the moment, it remains an idea.

Patricio last saw Bellator action as the opening contest on the main card of the promotion’s debut on Spike TV. He suffered a split-decision loss and now fights Robert Emerson on the July 31 card. It hails from the Santa Ana Star Center in Rio Rancho, NM.

Patricky has no return date or opponent.
