Chalk up another fighter against TRT in Tyron Woodley. The former Strikeforce competitor turned UFC fighter views the substance as almost a form of magic.
“If your body says it’s time to stop [fighting], it’s time to stop,” said Woodley on Sherdog Radio. “You shouldn’t be able to hit a reset button and go back and act like you’re 25 when you’re 39.”
That’s Woodley’s opinion though not everyone in the UFC agrees on what to do about TRT, if anything should be done.
Woodley made a name in Strikeforce, securing eight wins before losing a middleweight title shot to Nate Marquardt. He’s fought once for the UFC, needing 36 seconds to stop Jay Hieron. The win made Woodley 11-1.
Jake Shields returns from a suspension as he takes on Woodley at UFC 161. They headline the preliminary card, which airs on FX. It’s June 15 from the MTS Centre in Canada.
