In the midst of adding several fights to upcoming cards, UFC officials were hit with an injury on Friday.
Shane del Rosario has been forced to withdraw from a planned UFC 162: Silva vs. Weidman bout with Dave Herman. In his place will step Gabriel Gonzaga.
The card goes down July 7 from Las Vegas. UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva defends his title against Chris Weidman in the main event.
Gonzaga (14-7) had his three-fight win streak snapped by Travis Browne earlier this year. He is a former No. 1 contender to the UFC heavyweight title.
Herman (21-5) is returning after a suspension for a failed post-fight drug test. He has lost three straight, all via finish, to Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, Roy Nelson and Stefan Struve.
