Wanderlei Silva, Jon Jones, Uriah Hall: The Morning News Roundup – 5.31.13

Happy Friday, folks. The work week is almost over and the roundup is looking to make a strong finish. We’ve got a few good stories for you today, including a development in the Wanderlei Silva-Chael Sonnen feud, new rumblings on a Jon Jones-Anderson Silva superfight, and a new opponent for Uriah Hall. Plus we’ll take a look at Tito Ortiz’s personal drama with former partner Jenna Jameson (pro tip: she is crazy).

• Wanderlei says he still wants to fight Sonnen, but he’d rather do it in Brazil. Many speculators thought the match-up might become the main event on the UFC’s first Fox Sports 1 show in Boston, but apparently that is not going to happen. I’m kind of surprised that the UFC hasn’t pushed harder for this fight.

• Rumor has it that the UFC is trying to put together a Jones-Anderson superfight for a mega-card in Dallas. Dana White has often talked about doing a show at Cowboys Stadium, but even though this is potentially the biggest fight in UFC history, it’s hard to see it coming together easily.

• Hall’s next fight will be against veteran middleweight Nick Ring and is slated for the aforementioned Fox Sports 1 debut. Ring will be a tough test for the much-hyped TUF alum but it will be interesting to see if Hall rises to the occasion.

• Jameson has taken to social media in an attempt to smear Ortiz, but Tito says Jenna has abandoned their family and even went so far as to blame her for his career decline. I find that second part a little hard to believe, but whatever helps the man sleep at night.
