Marcus Brimage has been forced to put his MMA career on hold after suffering a torn Achilles tendon while training earlier this week. Brimage, a member of the UFC’s featherweight division, will be sidelined six-to-nine months.
“Marcus will undergo surgery next week and will immediately begin rehab,” McMahon said, in an interview with MMAFighting.com. “Marcus sought out several opinions from well-respected experts and based on the information available, Marcus is confident that he has chosen the right doctor and course treatment to ensure that he returns to the Octagon as quickly as possible.”
Brimage has gone 6-2 in his MMA career, including a 3-1 UFC mark. He was finished by Conor McGregor this past April.
