Besides a late 2011 loss to Hiroyuki Takaya under the K-1 banner, Bibiano Fernandes has had is way with bantamweights. Fernandes had five DREAM wins before that decision loss. He’s since won the DREAM bantamweight belt with an additional four wins for DREAM and one out of ONE FC.
Fernandes points his success to avoiding outside distractions.
“I just stay very focused,” said Fernandes on MMA Weekly. “The two things important in my life are my career and my family. I am either at the gym, training for hours, or I’ll be at home resting and taking care of my beautiful family. That helps me keep focused because I know what I am fighting for.”
Tomorrow, May 31, Fernandes meets Koetsu Okazaki in the co-main event of ONE FC Rise to Power.
Okazaki makes his debut for the promotion after posting an 8-2 record out of Shooto.
ONE FC Rise to Power can be purchased for $10 here.
