Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal, Bellator Plans For Title Run To Be Derailed By Seth Petruzelli

Seth Petruzelli is certain Bellator wants Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal as their light heavyweight champion, as the former Strikeforce titleholder enters his second tournament. Like Lawal’s debut for the promotion, Petruzelli plans to shock many by making sure that doesn’t happen.

“I’m not an idiot,” said Petruzelli on Mixed Marital Arts. “I know Bellator is trying to get ‘Mo’ as their champ. I swear I’m gonna do everything in my power to f— up their plans for that. That has been my driving force. I’m being overlooked and it pisses me off.”

In the semifinals of the Season 8 tournament, Lawal was knocked out with a spinning backfist by the eventual winner Emanuel Newton.

Petruzelli knows about upsets, defeating Kimbo Slice in 14 seconds. He was a last minute replacement on what would be the final EliteXC show.

The light heavyweights are part of a four person tournament for the 2013 Summer Series. They fight June 19 from the WinStar World Casino. It comes from Thackerville, OK and airs on Spike TV.
