Liz Carmouche lost her scheduled opponent because UFC bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey needed a new one.
Carmouche, who lost to Rousey earlier this year, was scheduled to face Miesha Tate in July. However, a knee injury to Cat Zingano forced some re-shuffling, and Tate wound up in the title fight and spot on The Ultimate Fighter as a coach.
“There is no point in lamenting what could have been,” Carmouche posted on Twitter. “I’m training for July 27!”
So far, there has been no word on if Carmouche will be given a new opponent. She did make a plea to her Twitter followers to “Tell (the UFC) how badly you want to see me fight!”
