UFC officials have placed Miesha Tate alongside UFC bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey on the next season of The Ultimate Fighter.
Filming for the upcoming 18th season began on Tuesday, and Rousey found out at that time that Tate would be replacing Cat Zingano.
Zingano suffered an injury to her knee and was forced to withdraw. She previously bested Tate to secure the No. 1 contender status and spot on TUF.
Rousey and Tate have a history dating back to Strikeforce when “Rowdy” won the title from Tate. Check out an interview with Rousey, Tate and UFC president Dana White courtesy of FOX Sports in the video below.
TUF begins airing on FOX Sports 1 this September, and the two females are expected to collide in December.
