UFC 160 saw winners of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF): The Smashes meeting on the preliminary card. The winner of the first installment Robert Whittaker took the TKO over season two’s victor Colton Smith early in the third round. Smith protested the stoppage post-fight.
“I think all fighters disagree with stoppages,” said Whittaker to MMA Fighting. “The refs are in there to do their job and he called it when he thought fit and I’m thankful for that.”
Whittaker was able to make a turnaround following a slow start in the first round. The Australian is undefeated in the UFC since officially joining in December and boasts an overall 11-2 record.
Smith is 1-1 for the UFC, with the lone win being a decision against Mike Ricci.
The former TUF winners met on the preliminary card of UFC 160. It came from Las, Vegas NV.
