If it were up to T.J. Grant, he would cash in his UFC lightweight title shot in his native country of Canada.
Grant, who finished former contender Gray Maynard at UFC 160: Velasquez vs. Bigfoot 2 recently, is expected to be the next challenger to Benson Henderson’s reign.
“Let’s do it in Canada,” Grant said. “There’s a show in Toronto (UFC 165 on September 21). But it’s up to the UFC, and I’m doing what they tell me.”
UFC president Dana White confirmed on the FUEL TV post-fight show that Grant is indeed the next challenger, but no date has been set for the match.
