It was a 13 month layoff for Stephen Thompson, who returned inside the Octagon following his first career loss at UFC 160. Thompson, who had jitters, closed the Facebook part of the card with a decision against Nah-Shon Burrell.
“After that last loss and knowing the UFC was doing some cuts, I was little nervous,” said Thompson to MMA Fighting. “But, I just went out there and did my thing. Staying out for a year was way too long.”
Thompson was undefeated before Matt Brown beat him in April 2012 and he was also coming off an injury. The win over Burrell makes him 7-1.
Burrell is 1-1 for the UFC since debuting for them this year. He was a former Strikeforce competitor.
