Donald Cerrone vs. KJ Noons

We open up the main card with our first of two lightweight bouts, as Donald Cerrone (19-5) looks to rebound from a loss to Anthony Pettis against KJ Noons (11-6), who is making his Octagon debut. The referee will be Mario Yamasaki.

Round 1: Noons, as expected, comes right out and is kicking Cerrone. “Cowboy” fires off a stiff knee that connects, backing Noons up. Swelling already under the right eye of Noons, who is continuing to fire off kicks. The swelling is now a cut. Vicious kick to the body from Cerrone, and another to the lead leg. Knee to the body lands by Cerrone as Noons comes in. Cerrone snaps off a head kick, as he follows with a takedown, but Noons quickly gets to his feet – only to eat an uppercut. Noons with a right that gets through the defense, as he appears to be looking to do more boxing. Combo lands, as Cerrone connects with a kick to the face.

Round 2: Cerrone listened to Greg Jackson in his corner, as he comes right out and scores a takedown. Cerrone winning the striking battle early in the round, and now Noons is coming back, but without a lot of power. Knee to the body from Cerrone, and Noons could be having problems with the adrenaline dump surrounding his Octagon debut. The right eye of Noons is causing him problems, as he keeps wincing with swelling and blood causing issues. Noons throws a knee and Cerrone catches him, taking him to his back. On the ground, this is all Cerrone, wrecking Noons with knees to the body.
