Mike Pyle vs. Rick Story

The prelim main event is next, as Mike Pyle (24-8-1) puts his three-fight win streak on the line against Rick Story (15-6). Steve Mazzagatti is the referee.

Round 1: Story with a takedown and into the guard, working some ground and pound. Pyle throwing his legs up, looking for a potential submission, but is unable to get it and back to the guard. Pyle elevates with an awesome maneuver, tries for an arm lock, but is unable to get it. Story in side control, landing elbows to the face. Back standing, and Story is looking for the knockout. Inside leg kick by Pyle lands. Story connects, pounces and is looking to finish with just under a minute to go. He takes the back and is unloading more and more with lefts and rights.

FightLine scores the round 10-8 for Story

Round 2: Pyle pulls guard and goes for a kimura, bending the arm back very awkward like. Story, though, has survived for now, though Pyle still has hold of the ligament. Story now looking to do damage on top with 90 seconds left in the round. An interesting round to score so far, as Pyle had the submission nearly locked up, but Story has rebounded to control the action.

Round 3: Knee to the body by Pyle, who tries to get Story to come to the ground but to no avail. Standing front kick lands by Pyle as well. Swooping right hook misses, and Story looks a little tired. Pyle uses the clinch and connects with a knee. Pyle hitting with everything, lefts, rights and kicks. Story working for a takedown, much to the non-delight of the crowd. A minute left and he releases, moving to the center of the Octagon. Pyle landing more strikes, and Story shoots and scores with a takedown. Pyle looking for an armbar, slips and goes to the back, figure fouring his legs around the body.
