In their first exchange, Cain Velasquez made quick work of Antonio “Big Foot” Silva. He placed the heavyweight on his back, bloodied him and took the win all in under four minutes. In their rematch, Wanderlei Silva is going with “Big Foot” leaving the new champion.
“I saw ‘Big Foot’ in training,” said Silva to TATAME. “‘Big Foot’ will shock the world. By the time he defends the first fall of Velasquez, [‘Big Foot’] will start winning and brings the belt back to Brazil. Bet on a points victory.”
With Velasquez’s first win over “Big Foot,” he retook the belt later in the year when he fought Junior dos Santos.
“Big Foot” has stoppages over Travis Browne and Alistair Overeem to become the No. 1 contender.
The two headline UFC 160 from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, NV. It air later today, May 25, and FightLine will be there with live coverage.
