Newly signed UFC fighter Josh Barnett is still waiting on word about who he meets in his return to the promotion. Whoever it is, Barnett is already labeling them another victim in his path of destruction.
“There’s plenty of guys out there to fight, and they’re going to line up whoever they think is the best and most exciting fight,” said Barnett to Bloody Elbow. “I’m also pretty positive that whoever gets to be my first victim, because I don’t have opponents, I have victims.”
When Strikeforce folded in January, Barnett and the UFC were unable to come to terms on a contract. That has changed over the last few days as Barnett inked a multi-fight deal. Barnett hasn’t fought since that January win.
Barnett was the UFC heavyweight champion 10 years ago, but was stripped of it and left the promotion when a drug test came back for steroids. He’s also fought in PRIDE and Affliction.
Barnett’s placement in the heavyweight division is also not known.
