It’s no secret that UFC president Dana White has interest in making a superfight with middleweight champion Anderson Silva. One of the leading candidates is light heavyweight champion Jon Jones and the boss insists that it may occur before December 31.
“Many people think this is a very serious threat to his record and his title and everything else,” said White on CBS Atlanta. “But if he gets past this test with Weidman, we could see this [Jones] super fight this year.”
White has often teased the idea of the two champions meeting, but nothing has come of it. Before Jones entered the scene, fans wanted to see Silva vs. welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre. Years of talk led to nothing between them.
