The International Mixed Martial Arts Federation (IMMAF) has created a committee that will meet World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) compliance by 2014.
In an IMMAF statement, it read “battling performance enhancing substance abuse is crucial not only to ensure fair play but most importantly from a health and safety perspective.”
The first step is to implement WADA rules within federations and implications on matters such as sanctioning of professional events and guidelines in each individual country.
That process is expected to take the IMMAF at least six months before an outline is sent to WADA for approval.
IMMAF was created in 2012 to further recognize MMA. They receive support from the UFC.
