One comment by Nate Diaz cost him $20,000 and a 90 day suspension courtesy of the UFC code of conduct. His manager, Mike Kogan, says the lightweight has no regret about using a homophobic slur to describe how Bryan Caraway collected Pat Healy’s bonus money.
“Nate doesn’t feel remorse for what he said,” said Kogan on The MMA Hour. “It was not a homophobic statement. It was not intended to offend homosexuals. We weren’t even talking about homosexuals.”
In the tweet, Diaz referred to Caraway as a f– for how he took the extra money. When Healy tested positive for marijuana at UFC 159, he lost both honors to Caraway.
On the same card, Diaz lost to Josh Thomson for his second straight defeat. The first was to lightweight champion Benson Henderson in late 2012.
