John Cholish Slams UFC For Low Fighter Pay

When it came down to it, John Cholish opted to return to his full-time job at a brokerage firm due to money. The UFC lightweight announced his retirement on twitter shortly before taking a submission loss to Gleison Tibau at UFC on FX 8.

“I give a lot of these guys credit that fight at this level,” said Cholish to MMA Junkie. “I think they could be compensated much better based on the income that the UFC takes in. Hopefully Zuffa and the UFC will start paying them a little better.”

Cholish was 8-3 in his career and lost a pair heading into retirement.

Tibau was able to lock in the guillotine choke halfway through the second round. Cholish was 1-3 during his UFC stint.
