Since Strikeforce held their last show in January, Showtime Sports executive Stephen Espinoza has been searching for another MMA promotion to fill the void. With several MMA companies out there, it’s the all-female Invicta FC that stands in front.
“If there was an obvious choice or a clear choice about getting back into MMA, we would’ve done it already,” said Espinoza on The MMA Hour. “But I agree that, probably the highest visibility, probably the most noteworthy promotion that’s distinguished itself out there, other than the ones aligned with TV networks, is probably Invicta.”
Espinoza continued that no serious talks have taken place with any promotion.
Invicta FC turned one year old in April. They host their sixth card on July 13 as Cristiane “Cyborg” Santos and Marloes Coenen scrap for the inaugural women’s featherweight title. Their events are streamed on their website for under $10 by clicking here.
