Ken Shamrock Thinks Floyd Mayweather Fears Manny Pacquiao

Ken Shamrock saw boxers taking paper fights as a reason for the sport taking the backseat to MMA and other combat sports. The UFC hall of famer is a fan of the undefeated Floyd Mayweather, but thinks he missed out on a big payday with Manny Pacquiao.

Mayweather and Pacquiao had been talked about, but the two could never agree on the details of a contract.

“I think Mayweather – and I’m not putting him down – but I think there was a little bit of a fear factor there,” said Shamrock on MMA Junkie Radio. “I think he kind of steers himself clear of that fear factor, and I think Manny Pacquiao had all the tools Mayweather did, and that scares Mayweather.”

Upon his release from jail, Mayweather took a guaranteed $32 million by defeating Robert Guerrero earlier in the month.

Shamrock returns after two and a half years when he challenges Ian Freeman at UCFC 5. It’s July 27 from the Keepmoat Stadium in England.
