Jessamyn Duke is still undefeated for Invicta FC after her loss to Miriam Nakamoto was overturned to a no contest. MOC Executive Director Tim Lueckenhoff reversed the decision following an investigation at the request of Duke.
An illegal knee resulted in the first round stoppage being changed.
“Ms. Nakamoto was not certain Ms. Duke’s knees were on the ground because of the height difference,” wrote Lueckenhoff. “Ms. Nakamoto’s head position during the fight, and that Ms. Duke continued to engage and grasp Ms. Nakamoto following the first knee.”
Duke is 2-0 and Nakamoto 1-0. Duke has stopped both opponents. Nakamoto returns at Invicta FC 6 against Duda Yankovich.
Invicta FC 5 was in April from the Ameristar Casino in Kansas City, MO.
