After the UFC 159 post-fight press conference had concluded, Dana White held his usual media scrum with the media.
Dana explained that it was Bryan Caraway who “chiseled” him up to $65,000, a sizable increase from $50,000 that the fight, sub and knockout of the night bonuses are usually set for.
Caraway defeated Johnny Bedford by guillotine choke, but lost out to Pat Healy’s rear naked choke victory over Jim Miller.
That all changed in the last couple of days, as Pat Healy tested for marijuana, causing him to lose both his submission and fight of the night bonuses.
Seems only fitting that the fighter who pushed for the raise in price on the bonuses, and also won by submission, should be the next choice.
