Sam Alvey wasn’t able to make it far on The Ultimate Fighter 16 and his return to competition for Maximum Fighting Championship (MFC) saw him drop a decision to middleweight champion Elvis Mutapcic.
Following a TKO to Jay Silva, Alvey is ready for another crack at the champion.
“I thought the win over Jay was a great win,” said Alvey to MMA Weekly. “He was the first guy – the first of many – that I’ve beaten from the UFC. I definitely want to keep this streak going.”
Silva had a short stint under the UFC before two decision losses led to his release.
At 20-5, Alvey was told post-fight that he was likely the No. 1 contender once again for the middleweight title. That information hasn’t been confirmed.
Alvey defeated Silva at MFC 37 on May 10.
