The Ultimate Fighter 17 finalist Uriah Hall’s next fight hasn’t been announced, but when he starts his next fight camp it will no longer be with Tiger Schulman’s MMA.
Hall made a statement on his Facebook page yesterday, saying he was leaving Tiger Schulmans—where he has trained his entire professional career—and concluded it with a famous quote from actor Will Smith.
“Moving forward is the one thing I’m constantly focused on as most of you know I’m not with Tiger Schulman’s anymore never will I forget where I came from but I know exactly where I’m going so much could be said now especially to those who dislike me for my actions but I’ll let your thoughts consume you; if wanting to become better is selfish then that’s a road I’ll gladly take in the mist of my training i have gained the best traits any Tiger Schulmann student can get, from this experience I learned the importance of finding oneself I know people are still struggling with this and I’m ready for the next path.. that’s in front of me” “IF YOUR NOT THERE DURING MY STRUGGLE DONT EXPECT TO BE THERE DURING MY SUCCESS -will smith”
This is the first real news we have heard about Hall—who has been relatively quiet since losing via split decision to Kelvin Gastellum at The Ultimate Fighter 17 Finale. Perhaps being on the biggest stage of MMA, competing with a higher level of athlete on a consistent basis, and being around Chael Sonnen as well as Jon Jones during the TUF 17 season, was enough to lure him away.
Where he goes now is anybody’s guess at this point. Hall told Fightline via text message, he was “not interested” in talking about where he was headed or why he left, saying “it’s something I wish not to discuss.”
Since he was on TUF 17, and around the UFC, perhaps one of the larger and highly-touted camps like Jackson’s or AKA will be his next destination.
As far as Hall making an announcement on his next training home he replied “no I’m not.”
It looks like we will find out soon enough.
