Luke Rockhold was just a kid as Vitor Belfort was making a name for himself during the early UFC days. Now, the two are days from headlining the upcoming UFC show.
“I always dreamed about it when I was a kid, that maybe I’ll be a fighter someday,” said Rockhold to MMA Fighting. “I lost track for a while, and then it came back to be real. Who would have ever thought I’d face Belfort, one of the guys I dreamed about?”
The dream of course would be that much sweeter if Rockhold can stop the veteran.
Rockhold comes in with nine wins from Strikeforce and was their final middleweight champion.
Belfort looks for another win this year, following a second round stoppage of top middleweight Michael Bisping.
They close UFC on FX 8, which is on Saturday, May 18. It comes from the Arena Jaraguá in Brazil.
