Nick Diaz said during his post-fight interview loss to Georges St-Pierre that he wanted a rematch or Anderson Silva. If Diaz didn’t get one of those two options, he was thinking about retiring.
UFC president Dana White said he didn’t see those fights happening since St-Pierre easily won and Diaz doesn’t compete as middleweight.
It’s led to talk that Diaz will start his own MMA promotion and those rumors have heated up with the domain name www.NickDiazPromotions.com being registered. MMA Junkie confirmed with the CSAC that Diaz has begun the proper paperwork to make this a reality.
The CSAC said that it’s a long process and they could deny Diaz a promoter license.
Diaz is 1-2 in his latest UFC run. In between his decision losses to Carlos Condit and St-Pierre, Diaz was suspended for a year for having marijuana metabolites in his system.
