In less than two weeks, the heavyweights take center stage for UFC 160. The main event is a rematch between Cain Velasquez and Antonio “Big Foot” Silva, but this time the title will be on the line.
Velasquez’s friend and highly ranked UFC heavyweight Daniel Cormier believes the same outcome will happen.
“I don’t envision this fight going any different than the first fight,” said Cormier on The MMA Hour. “I think Cain’s going to take him out pretty good, but ‘Big Foot’ has put himself in a position where he deserves a title shot.”
The first fight, just under a year ago at UFC146, saw Velasquez bloody Silva early and put him on his back. Velasquez easily took the first round stoppage.
Since that encounter, Velasquez has regained the heavyweight title and Siva has taken two stoppages.
UFC 160 is May 25 out of the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, NV.
Cormier won his UFC debut against Frank Mir a few weeks back.
