Glover Teixeira is riding the biggest win of his career, taking a decision to Quinton “Rampage” Jackson to start the year. As he prepares to meet James Te Huna, the light heavyweight sees similarities in his old and new opponent.
“He’s a guy like Rampage and I am too,” said Teixeira to TATAME. “We will exchange, but if it goes soft, I’ll put him down. It’s a complete guy, but I see myself better, so I’m confident.”
Since Teixeira joined the UFC last May, he’s taken three wins and two stoppages. He has not lost a fight since 2005.
Te Huna is 5-1 for the UFC with the lone defeat coming from Alexander Gustafsson. The New Zealander has one win this year inside the Octagon.
The two meet at UFC 160 on May 25. It comes from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, NV.
