Welcome to the Monday edition of the roundup. We’ve got an update on the Eddie Alvarez legal drama with Bellator, the latest on hard-hitting British fighter Paul Daley, and a couple of UFC announcements, including another card on Fox Sports 1. Plus, see what happens when a bully tries to pick on a former boxing champion. Here goes:
• Another twist in the Alvarez saga. Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney took to Twitter to post a copy of Alvarez’s Bellator contract, but Alvarez responded with a document of his own and alleged that Rebney’s document was not the one he signed. Take a look at the links and judge for yourself.
• Still beleaguered by immigration issues, Daley is unable to travel to the USA but is taking fights outside of Bellator to stay sharp. Check out the latest from “Semtex” from his last fight in Dubai (video through the link). Bonus footage here.
• The UFC says it will be returning to Indianapolis on August 28 for a show that will air on Fox Sports 1. And for those of you planning on attending UFC 162, you can get a rundown of planned “International Fight Week” events by clicking here.
• Start your week off with some epic street justice as some punk tries to intimidate former WBA champion Rocky Lockridge. This KO actually happened a while ago but I think it’s only been recently revealed that Lockridge was the man owning the bully. You should also check out Lockridge’s fight with Roger Mayweather from back in the 80s. The man has some serious power in his hands.
