When Junior dos Santos and Mark Hunt fight later in the month, the next challenger for the heavyweight title could be determined. Champion Cain Velasquez thinks Santos easily takes the win.
“He’s more well-rounded,” said Velasquez to MMA Fighting. “I don’t know, I just think he’s more skilled in the stand up a little bit.”
Velasquez is familiar with Santos, having dropped the UFC belt to him on the first UFC on FOX show. He has since reclaimed the gold. He defends his title on the same card as Santos-Hunt, when he takes on Antonio “Big Foot” Silva at UFC 160 in the main event.
Santos will enter the Octagon off his decision loss to Velasquez. Hunt has won four in a row for the UFC, which includes three stoppages.
UFC 160 is May 25 from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, NV.
