Before The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 17 even aired, UFC president Dana White hyped up one competitor as a potential future champion. That man was Uriah Hall, who ended up losing in the finals of the show.
Now that people see Hall is beatable, even the fighter feels the relief.
“The beauty about it, all this weight is off my shoulders,” said Hall on Middle Easy TV. “It was all that hype that I wasn’t feeding into and now it’s like, ‘he lost, he’s a human.’ I was trying to tell everyone that, but people wanted to put me on a pedestal.”
Hall lost a split-decision to Kelvin Gastelum in a fight many thought he didn’t start working until the end. The loss made Hall 7-3 with the other ones coming from Chris Weidman and Costa Philippou. Both losses occurred under the Ring of Combat name.
There is no return date for Hall, but he’s ready at a moment’s notice.
