Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal Talks Respect Of Bjorn Rebney

Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal has only fought for Bellator since January, but couldn’t be happier. The former Strikeforce light heavyweight champion felt that CEO Bjorn Rebney does a terrific job with the fighters and stands by the comments he makes about them.

“You’ll have a lot of guys who will go out there and do an interview and blast you, but then when they see you, they shake your hand and tell you that you’re a hell of a fighter,” said Lawal to MMA Weekly. “Bjorn isn’t like that. That’s why I respect him and like him.”

In the Season 8 light heavyweight tournament, Lawal made it easily into the semifinals and was considered the favorite to win it all. Then the eventual winner Emanuel Newton knocked Lawal out cold with a spinning back fist.

Lawal returns for the 2013 Summer Series against Seth Petruzelli in a four person tournament. It’s June 19 from the WinStar World Casino in Thackerville, OK.
