Leonard Garcia knew heading into UFC 159 a loss was the end of his UFC run, as it would make his fifth straight for the promotion. As expected, a decision loss and Garcia was quickly released. He’s taking offers and has received several, including ones from the World Series of Fighting (WSOF) and Bellator.
With the way the Eddie Alvarez-Bellator contract issue has gone down, Garcia is reluctant to field their offer.
“I believe Bellator made an offer and I haven’t asked to hear it yet because my intentions are to come back to the UFC,” said Garcia to MMA Fighting. “I feel if I go to Bellator, I’ll never come back. That’s one of things where I’m not sure that I’m ready to hear an offer from them.”
Garcia was open to the WSOF and hinted that might be his next destination.
Before Garcia went to the UFC, he fought for the WEC and was a featherweight championship contender.
