Fabricio Werdum is planning for a well-rounded Antônio Rodrigo Nogueira in a month’s time. The Ultimate Fighter coaches will be in familiar territory as they meet out of their home country, Brazil.
To help take on the PRIDE veteran, Werdum has worked on his standup and boxing.
“With the experience gained, the boxing has become a strong part of it,” said Werdum to TATAME. “Of course we cannot underestimate his ground, but I have to be very careful with boxing because it is working very well in recent fights.”
The boxing has helped Werdum secure two UFC wins. He took a decision to Roy Nelson and finished Mike Russow in the first round.
Nogueira returned from a broken arm, submitting Dave Herman in October.
