If Anderson Silva is getting a big head, Chris Weidman has a warning for him. Silva recently skipped a media event, was fined by the UFC, and “The All-American” issued him a few choice words.
“I hope he’s staying grounded,” said Weidman, in an interview with MMAFighting.com. “I hope his head isn’t getting to big that he thinks he doesn’t have to do things for the UFC, but who am I to judge? If his head is really getting too big, I’m definitely going to bring him down to earth on July 6.”
The unbeaten Weidman will get his chance at UFC 162: Silva vs. Weidman in Las Vegas to celebrate the Fourth of July weekend.
Weidman has been out of action since finishing Mark Munoz last year, as surgery knocked him from a planned meeting with Tim Boetsch. Silva, meanwhile, closed out 2012 with wins over Chael Sonnen and Stephan Bonnar.
