Former UFC champion Rich Franklin is looking for “big money” fights as his career winds down. Following a loss last year to Cung Le, who would “Ace” like to see step inside the Octagon with him next?
“I look at my Twitter and a lot of people talk about (Michael) Bisping,” said Franklin, during a recent interview with MMAWeekly.com. “That would be an exciting fight and something the fans would want to see. I’m an exciting fighter, he’s an exciting fighter; we both like to throw down.”
Franklin (29-7) has gone an even 5-5 since a loss to Anderson Silva in his quest to win back the UFC middleweight title several years ago. Bisping (24-5), meanwhile, is coming off a win over Alan Belcher that evened his 2013 record to 1-1.
“Since my ultimate goal is not to go back and capture the 185-pound title, it doesn’t really matter to me if it’s at 185 or a catch-weight or 205,” Franklin added. “Wherever the UFC needed me, I would fight, as long as the fight made sense.”
