Robbie Peralta isn’t blaming anyone for his failed UFC on FUEL TV 9 drug test. The featherweight tested positive for marijuana metabolites and was handed a six month suspension. He must undergo drug rehabilitation classes and pass a drug test before he can return.
“I just want to apologize to all my friends, family, fans and to the UFC for what I did,” said Peralta to Sherdog. “I’m going to have to suffer the consequences, but the main thing is that I apologize to all the people I let down- my coaches, my team.”
Following the passing of his grandmother in March, Peralta felt vulnerable and after a few drinks was smoking.
“I regretted it the next day, but I’m not here to make excuses for myself,” said Peralta. “I did what I did.”
Akira Corassani took the decision win on the card. No other fighters were popped for a failed drug test.
Peralta has promised that it won’t happen again as he doesn’t want to jeopardize his career.
