When Cung Le took Knockout of the Night in the main event of UFC’s debut in China, retirement was on the brain.
“It was definitely fun being the main event in China and headlining for the first UFC in China,” said Le on MMA Weekly. “I felt like if I did end on that note, it’d be great.”
That was at November’s FUEL TV card where Le knocked out Rich Franklin with one shot in the opening round. It was the second UFC win for the Vietnamese native and first fight in front of an Asian audience.
Le is open to returning and was interested when Anderson Silva’s camp mentioned him as a possible contender. UFC president Dana White doesn’t feel as strong about putting that bout together.
