Glover Teixeira spotted Jon Jones’ easy win over Chael Sonnen well ahead of the UFC 159 card. The growing light heavyweight contender hopes to one day fight Jones, title or not.
“The guy’s champion,” said Teixeira to TATAME. “The guy is worthy. One day, god willing, will be fighting with him for the title or not. One day we will meet. He is good in all areas.”
Teixeira touched the UFC riding over 15 straight wins with most being stoppages. He’s won three for the UFC, including the final UFC fight for Quinton “Rampage” Jackson.
At UFC 160, it’s Teixeira taking on James Te Huna, who has only lost in the UFC to Alexander Gustafsson. They meet May 25 from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, NV.
Gustafsson has been discussed as a potential light heavyweight No. 1 contender.
