Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney had high hopes the legal situation with Eddie Alvarez could be worked out after the two were spotted at Bellator 95. Times have apparently taken a sour note
“I don’t have any projections of it getting settled at this point because we’re not talking,” said Rebney on MMA Junkie Radio. “We have a position that we did everything right legally, and the court has supported us. I thought we were headed down a road [to resolution], and then everything went real dark.”
The two have been arguing since Alvarez fulfilled his Bellator contract. The UFC offered a contract that Bellator matched. Alvarez didn’t agree that they were the identical and they’ve been in a legal battle since.
The situation has kept Alvarez away from competition since October.
