UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones suffered no fracture to his big toe this past weekend. Instead, despite the gruesome injury, “Bones” only dislocated it.
Dr. Robert Klapper appeared on UFC Tonight Tuesday and explained the rehab process for Jones, stating he could be back fighting in six-to-eight weeks.
“The rehabilitation involves putting the toe back into place,” Klapper said. “Because there’s no fracture of the bone, it’s just a dislocation, in six weeks it’s healed, then you start range of motion and strengthening rehab.”
Jones said after the win over Chael Sonnen that he wants to compete at least once more at 205 pounds so he has a chance to set the division record for title defenses.
