UFC officials have released a statement denying plans to end The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil after the current season finishes. Reports out of Brazil late Monday night cited the series coming to an end.
Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira and Fabricio Werdum served as coaches on the recently-completed-filming season. They will square off later this year.
“The information is inaccurate,” UFC officials stated in a release sent to MMAjunkie.com. “The Ultimate Fighting Championship and Globo (where the series airs in Brazil) are happy with this successful partnership, which includes broadcasts of a few of the UFC’s main events and exclusivity for the reality show in Brazil.”
Wanderlei Silva and Vitor Belfort were coaches on the first season, which saw champions crowned in Cezar Ferreira and Rony Jason. The series also streams online in the U.S. and other markets.
