Chris Weidman will be at his best when he takes on Anderson Silva and expects the same out of the middleweight champion.
“I’m expecting the best Anderson Silva that’s ever been,” said Weidman to MMA Mania. “This is definitely my toughest challenge. I’m fighting the greatest of all time. It’s a dream match-up and I can’t wait to meet the challenge. I’m ready to become a champion.”
It’s tough where to start with Silva. He’s been a UFC champion since 2006 and he’s up to 10 title defenses. He holds another six wins when the gold wasn’t being decided and those are just some of the accomplishments for the undefeated UFC veteran.
Weidman carries an unbeaten streak of nine with three UFC stoppages. He’s fought only for Ring of Combat and the UFC.
They headlined UFC 162 in Silva’s first title defense of the year. It’s July 6 from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, NV.
