Bryan Caraway Sheds Over 20 Pounds In Five Days

Bryan Caraway took his recent fight five days out, which he believes is a UFC record. The bantamweight admitted the weight cut was brutal, needing to cut over 20 pounds.

“It was really rough,” said Caraway to MMA Fighting. “Probably the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life. What doesn’t kill you, makes you stronger and I’m coming out of here with a win over a super tough opponent.”

Erik Perez pulled out of the fight with Johnny Bedford with a week to go.

All three of Caraway’s UFC wins have come via submission choke. He’s 3-1 since joining in late 2011. Bedford took his first UFC loss after riding a pair of wins.

They opened the FX end of UFC 159 from the Prudential Center. They fought on the preliminary card out of Newark, NJ on April 27.
