Sara McMann vs. Sheila Gaff
We head to the female bantamweight division, as Olympic silver medalist Sara McMann (6-0) makes her Octagon debut against Sheila Gaff (10-4). Gaff, also making her first appearance with the UFC, owns six knockout and four submission victories to her credit. The referee will be Gasper Oliver.
Round 1: Gaff comes right after McMann and winds up on her back, as the Olympian slams her with a takedown to the canvas. It appeared as if Gaff had no idea McMann would take her down, as she charged right after her and didn’t throw anything. McMann inside the guard, working to break Gaff down. McMann continuing to work the body, take head shots when she can, and remain complete control. After three minutes, the ref stands them up and Gaff is landing some nice knees inside the clinch. McMann with a single-leg takedown, and winds up in side control with a mounted crucifix and is teeing off on Gaff’s face. Several rights uncontested and this one is over, as McMann takes a bow and a finish.
