Former UFC fighter Marcus Davis has signed an extension with Bellator MMA, and will secure a spot in the upcoming lightweight tournament.
“Proud to officially announce (Davis) has signed a long-term deal with Bellator MMA,” Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney posted on Twitter. “Class act and super exciting fighter. Fall LW tourney!”
Davis (21-9) had his Bellator debut end in a no-contest after an errant low blow landed by “The Irish Hand Grenade” to Waachiim Spiritwolf this past March.
Davis was released by the UFC in 2011 but won four straight fights to secure a job with Bellator.
